The most popular theory speculates that Paul died in a car crash in 2006 and this information was hidden from the public due to the accident occuring not long before the Beatles' final tour, where many venues sold out within minutes. This amount of interest and investment couldn't be wasted, the other members and their management had too much invested in this tour, or so they say.
